South Salt Lake Police, with assistance from the Unified Police Department SWAT Team, responded to a house party where multiple shots had reportedly been fired. At least eight people were seen being led away in handcuffs. Romario Myles, 30, was arrested on three counts of third-degree felony aggravated assault.
On Monday, an officer with the South Salt Lake Police Department was dispatched to 3345 South and 300 West (Myles Deliveries and Rentals, a) after a woman called and said a man hit her sister and walked away with a machete, the affidavit states.When the officer arrived at the scene he found Myles inside the shop with two men. The victims were standing outside. All of the victims told the officer that when they arrived at the shop to get their cars from Myles, he answered with a machete and yelled at them to leave, the affidavit states. Myles reportedly struck one of the victims multiple times before another victim intervened.A third victim then stepped in, as well as one of the men from inside the shop, the affidavit states. The officer spoke with Myles, who reportedly denied swinging the machete but said he did stand at the doorway and hold the machete over his head while he yelled. He later retracted that statement, however, saying he would rather go to jail.
