The Bacolod City Council has extended the deadline for business permit applications and tax payments to February 15, 2025. Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran made the announcement to ease the burden on business owners and ensure all requirements are met.

The Bacolod City Council has approved the extension of the Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) and the deadline for the payment of business taxes, fees, and charges until February 15, 2025, at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC).

Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran announced on Thursday that he requested the City Council to pass a resolution extending the deadline for filing business permits and licenses for the year 2025, as well as for the first-quarter payment of business taxes, fees, and charges. He explained that business owners would receive a 10 percent discount for one-time payments made between January 1 and 20, 2025, while payments made from January 21 to February 15, 2025, would be accepted without penalty but without a discount. Familiaran noted that the City Council approved the resolution on Wednesday, January 8, because not all business owners could process their permits by January 20. 'We need to extend the BOSS until February 15 to accommodate those who are still processing their permits,' he added. Through the one-stop-shop, business owners can expedite the processing of their permits, saving both time and money as all the agencies and offices they need to transact with are located under one roof. The BOSS aims to streamline the processing and renewal of business permits. Familiaran mentioned that if necessary, barangays could also extend their stay at the BCGC, but if most businesses within their respective barangays have already secured their clearances, they could remove their tables from the BCGC. In addition to barangay clearances, several other agencies are participating in the BOSS, including the City Health Office (CHO), City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) Zoning Division, Office of the Building Official, Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), City Tourism Office, City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office, City Department of Agriculture, City Veterinary Office, and the Bureau of Fire Protection. Familiaran emphasized that the BOSS extension is a significant help for business owners to comply with all the requirements for securing their business permits
