Evolved from its origin as a quick-service restaurant franchisee to a group of affiliated companies with employees across 12 states Ampex Brands shifted from franchisee to franchisor with the acquisition of Au Bon Pain Bakery and Cafe in June of 2021, adding 171 cafes to its portfolio. In June of 2022, Ampex acquired DFW-based fast casual disruptor bellagreen. We initially hit very hard times, but our franchise units started drawing new customers when independent restaurants remained closed.
Au Bon Pain will open 11 new locations in 2022, signed four new franchise agreements and announced a new bakery designed to be rolled out companywide in 2023. At the same time, our company is thoughtfully planning bellagreen’s growth strategy, expanding its unique combination of fast-casual convenience with high-quality menu items and personalized service of fine dining.
