Today, the firm has 340 employees after it brought in more than $641 million in revenue in 2021.

James Murphy has only worked for one company since graduating from Arizona State University about 24 years ago.

"The financial side of the building world, I certainly owe a lot to John Murdough in terms of shaping strategy. If that side of things hadn't been well-tended to, what happens is that it ends up limiting your opportunities. We've just never had any limitations on the financial side and a lot I attribute that to is really good coaching from John really early on in my career," Murphy said."Make no mistake about it, I was very young to be in that position.

In addition to Murdough and Badger, Murphy's leaned on his other ASU professors and the Arizona Growth Advisors to put the firm in the best position to succeed.
