For some who live in Claiborne County, Tennessee, talking about coal is like talking about politics or religion. You just don’t do it. Generations made a decent living from it. America was built using it. In 2015, the mine employed a peak of 88 miners, according to data from the Department of Labor. But the price of coal fell by nearly a quarter that same year.
