“What we should be paying right now is $1 a litre, if not less. What we are paying on average is $1.37.' 9News

With world oil prices plunging, they've been slow to act, keeping petrol prices high and making record profits.

"I don't know how many times we can say it. These prices should have come down a long time ago," NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury said. The NRMA says the gap between the wholesale price and the retail price is the largest on record - and the falls in the price cycle are the slowest."So what we should be paying in Sydney right now is $1 a litre, if not less. What we are paying on average is $1.37.

Mogas - the oil prices are benchmarked against - has fallen to its lowest in 17 years, meaning oil companies are making profit margins like never before.

Under 90 cents per litre for unleaded at many Adelaide servos

Daylight robbery. Its criminal as well ppl had lost jobs and now this fuel rise is unjustified

Yes it certainly typical of them! 😱😱

Disgusting. We are paying 77 to 79 cents a litre in Canada

Not just Petrol, supermarkets like Coles & Woolworths should be dropping their prices, Bills should be frozen, Mortgages frozen. Cost of Living in this country is ridiculous & some companies are taking advantage of this pandemic.

Kicking people at their lowest and continue kicking at their highest! That is fuel companies. It don't matter people if people have just lost their jobs. You will feel it anyways when people cannot fill their tanks.

Rip off.

Try Tasmania

My station is $1:48! I go a short distance and got it fir $1:08! gouging is right shop around people!

And supermarkets have put their prices up just cause they can, while people are suffering. Its all about the money. Greed Greed Greed

lol they may want to drop that,as is people aren’t driving around that much and with those prices many more won’t either

What I saw today was closer to a dollar.

Yes they are. So why aren't the authorities doing anything about it?!

And the price gouging won’t stop, and won’t be stopped.

$1.50+ at my end. And they wonder why people drive off.

Because they are robbers, killers and profit eargers.

This was a week ago... now down to 91c... this is why independents are so important... the BP and Caltex on the same strip have had to drop their prices below $1 to compete

And the diesel price is way too much..

This is a once in 100 years national crisis. People are suffering. Time for price controls on essentials.

Lucky if you’re paying that, come to Kangaroo Island

Crude oil has dropped from $55 to $19 and yet petrol prices go up. Just like the banks who didn't pass on the rate cuts in full last week. Mortage payments should be frozen for 6 months as well as all utilities. But naah they will all kick us when we are down.

You pay 1.37? Lucky baatards, we are at 1.54

I can see why petrol stations and supermarkets do this (having worked in a supermarket before), but I don’t agree with these actions in the current climate.

Open your eyes and see what these businesses charging to public.

Petrol companies have been price gouging forever. They need to be regulated.

Northumberland undrr a saudi style monarch would see furl at no more than 10c and zero tax after we purchase back all outmr crown jewels we gave away for nicks OhAtFairMarketValue

And bloody supermarkets!!

Was $1.10 a few days ago now they are all bloody $1.45 (on the GC) Blooy gougers!
