The Pinarello Dogma F Sram Red Carbon road bike is on the market for R270,000 with the option to finance it through WesBank, but it is not selling quite yet. | BISouthAfrica

One of the most pricy bicycles in South Africa is on the market for R270,000 at Cycle Lab.

Given its sculpted curvy aesthetic, the mountain bike is both a work of art – and a bike designed to be aerodynamic. At R270,000, the company best known for offering car finance, WesBank, would be happy to talk to you about financing. But so far, nobody has gone that route. “Certain brands use material like carbon or aluminium frames that can cost up to R100,000 alone. The name brand itself and other components like the wheels, seat post, hand bars, and all those other things also determine the price,” .

It features lighter headset bearings thanks to parts of the collar now made with polymer instead of alloy.

BISouthAfrica Yeah financing a bicycling for a quarter of a million Rand at current interest rate… very likely to happen.🤡

BISouthAfrica How stupid should one be to spend so much on this thing?🤔

BISouthAfrica I'm sorry, but this is pure bedon.....geid. What's wrong with Raleigh?

BISouthAfrica Westbank refused to finance me 4yrs ago on 1M SUV, my own bank FNB, until Absa jumped in with no hesitation. Now they can even finance a Bike, yoh, mihlolo.

BISouthAfrica Lol

BISouthAfrica Wesbank here was really bored and uninnovative.

BISouthAfrica Would be great if you use the hashtag ad in this kind of tweet next time, or make it less obvious. News should be news. Not a R27.000 bike that can’t be sold. Thank you.
