WHITE DEER - The former treasurer of a volunteer fire company in Union County is accused of stealing approximately $350,000 from the organization over a four-year period.
The money shortage came to light when the fire company contacted Susquehanna Community Bank about available funds to buy a rescue vehicle, the arrest affidavit states. It was suspected the $197,000 figure was provided by Fisher because upon further review of bank statements it was determined the loss was $351,978, the affidavit states.
