Helen Grieve, who owns Head to Toe in Baillieston, has warned other business owners to be on the lookout after a man entered her salon and stole a worker's phone.

A Glasgow business owner has issued a warning following a spate of thefts across the central belt which appear to have been committed by the same man.

Speaking to Glasgow Live about the incident, she said: "Our male hairdresser noticed the guy walk straight into the back of the shop and asked him what he was doing and he asked about a massage. He went back out the front and sat in one of the female hairdresser's chairs and tried to get in at the desk.

"We were quite lucky because there were work laptops, phones and cash from the shop all sitting in the back. I think if one of us hadn't of noticed he would have stolen everything because he had a good look around." "I put the post up to warn other salons and have had messages and comments from people from Coatbridge, Fife and other areas of Glasgow saying that he had done similar there. So it doesn't seem like it was especially targeted."

"He had poor English and reached behind the desk to grab a bit of paper to write out what he was meaning. While he was doing that he placed his newspaper on the desk and lifted the phone underneath. Whitburn Dental Centre also reported a theft. In a post they wrote: "Has anyone seen this man? He is entering business premises and stealing people's belongings.
