Ramaphosa will lead the opening of Parliament for the seventh administration at the City Hall

The City of Cape Town says the traffic flow across the city will be disrupted on Thursday, due to the opening of Parliament for the seventh administration at the City Hall.The City has requested motorists to familiarise themselves with the road closures and to find alternative routes.

City of Cape Town’s traffic services spokesperson Kevin Jacobs says motorists should also note that there will be restricted parking in some parts of the city. “Cape Town traffic officers will be effecting road closures and parking restrictions around the CBD for the opening of Parliament. The precinct around the Parliament will be closed off for the public. The roads include Darling Street, Buitekant Street, Roland Street as well as Corporation Street.”

“The upper freeways will also be affected. This includes the M3 and Hospital Bend. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes,” adds Jacobs.The event takes place on Thursday, 18 July 2024. A number of roads will be closed – some closures will be in place until 26 July 2024.
