Business Council of Australia head Bran Black has doubled down on his call for the Albanese government to reverse controversial changes to industrial relations law.

Australia's peak business group is doubling down on its call for the government to reverse controversial industrial relations reforms, despite Prime Minister Anthony Albanese insisting the changes were not a"point of tension".

"We are proudly pro-business and pro-worker, and we don't see this as a point of tension, we see it as a matter of logic," he said. Despite the Prime Minister's remarks, Mr Black doubled down on his call for the government to reverse the reforms on Wednesday, telling Sky News Australia the nation was not"heading in the right direction"."We do disagree on some key areas, like industrial relations, and the reason why we take the view that we do is that the experience I get from members and from businesses all around the country is that we aren't heading in the right direction.

Among the key criticisms put forward by the BCA and other business leaders are the reduction in workforce flexibility, re-introduction of industry-wide bargaining and crackdown on labour hire. "If we're not getting investment we're not driving productivity and if we're not driving productivity then we're not in a position to produce real wages growth, which is what we all want to see," he explained.
