The BCA's activities are funded by its members — some of the largest companies in the country. In the 2017-18 financial year, the BCA raised more than $10 million in those fees.But it was only last month, shortly before Reed's arrival, one long-time BCA member decided to cut ties with the organisation citing the need to cut costs. CBD's sources said the BCA currently has 130 paying members, a fall from the 136 companies which were part of the organisation at the end of June last year.
