SINGAPORE: A 50-year-old Singaporean was sentenced to 34 months' jail for corruption offences, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau said on Thursday .

Li and Tam used Newair to get business from Jurong Shipyard using Li who was then a section manager of the HVAC sub-unit at JSPL's engineering department. The duo introduced and recommended Newair to Jurong Shipyard as a supplier for HVAC products.This resulted in a total sales volume of approximately S$34,200,000 from 2011 to 2014.

Li and Tam were first charged in court on Apr 28, 2016 for offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act. They were convicted on Aug 7, 2018.
