PETALING JAYA: The Transport Ministry says the newly unveiled stimulus package will further strengthen the industry, especially as transport works as an enabler to the local tourism scene.

The provision of a RM100 digital voucher per person for domestic flights and rail rides would promote demand for such transport services, the ministry said.

Other rebates offered to operators and businesses at logistics facilities would go a long way in alleviating cash flow concerns for these organisations. “The rebates given for rental of premises at the airport, as well as landing and parking charges, for a period of time will ease the cash flow of the businesses and airlines operating at the airport, ” the ministry said in a statement yesterday.

Individual taxi drivers, it added, were also not left behind in the stimulus package, with a one-off payment of RM600 to each of them.Article type: free
