It is a misconception to think that TVET is only for the academically weak or those with low career prospects. In reality, TVET graduates have a high rate of employability that commands an attractive salary.

Students can pursue professional licences, international competency examinations or obtain a bachelor’s degree at four universities under the Malaysian Technical University Network . The Youth and Sports Ministry offers TVET programmes at its 22 National Youth Skills Institutes and National Advanced Youth Vocational Institutes nationwide.

Mara offers certificate and diploma programmes in 12 clusters of its Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara , Mara-Japan Industrial Institute and Mara Skills Institutes. “Since I’m more inclined towards technical skills than academics, my parents encouraged me to enter IKBN.
