District police chief Assistant Commissioner Habibi Majanji said police noted the concerns raised particularly by budget hotel operators although they have yet to receive reports regarding property break-ins.

Habibi also advised business operators to ensure their security systems are in place throughout the MCO and to report to the police immediately should there be any incident. With the extension of the MCO, budget hotel operators have expressed concern over individuals taking advantage of the Covid-19 situation to commit crimes.

"The culprit tried to gain entry through the back alley by climbing onto the water pipe to get upstairs. The culprit stepped on the pipe, which broke causing water to gush out.
