IPOH: Some 102,000 farmers registered under the Perak Farmers Association Board will benefit from the Controlled Fresh Market and Agro bazaar initiatives in view of the movement control order (MCO), says Datuk Abdul Yunus Jamahri.

IPOH: Some 102,000 farmers registered under the Perak Farmers Association Board will benefit from the Controlled Fresh Market and Agro bazaar initiatives in view of the movement control order , says Datuk Abdul Yunus Jamahri .

He said both initiatives would not only make it easier for the surrounding community, but it would also help increase Agro bazaar sales by 40% to 50% compared to before the MCO. “Five farmers associations in the state have been chosen for the Agro bazaar which are in Pengkalan Hulu, Gerik, Padang Rengas, Manong and Tambun, ” he told a press conference at the state secretariat building here on Tuesday .

He added that besides the Agro bazaar, the board has also created several centres to collect the farm produce, which is now known as the Controlled Fresh Market at three zones in the state - Selama, Pengkalan Hulu and Tapah.
