MANILA — With the halt in showbiz productions and the closure of cinemas due to the coronavirus quarantine, the substantial shift in the way Filipinos consume entertainment will likely carry over as t

he new normal beyond the pandemic, according to industry stalwart Charo Santos-Concio.

"I don't think anyone can predict kung kailan babalik sa normal ang sitwasyon. If things will normalize, it will be a new normal for all of us," Concio said in the stream's closing minutes. As experts estimate at least a year before a vaccine is fully developed against COVID-19, the most basic safety measure of physical distancing will at the moment be second nature and not a government imposition, Concio said.

As viewing habits start to rely more on streaming amid the lockdown, Concio noted that producers and filmmakers will in the meantime have to tailor-fit their outputs for immediate access.
