If you see the greed, even if they return money we should avoid these establishments once we begin the new normal.

Sad TRUMP & GOP loop holes keep the rich richer and screw the poor & middle class again! 'MAGA'

Let the banks and automakers fail, but help Ruth Chris Steakhouse....WTF !

As they should

RuthsChris knew exactly what they were doing. They don’t “serve” the 98% of the working people. They serve the 2% of wealthy diners. However, the 98% need to be working so the 2% can make millions. Just think about that. Eco-nomics. BailOutPeopleNotCorporations boycotRuths

And so they should. Ridiculous. Thieves.

Thank you for that. You are blessed with goodness.

AustinBogues I question the characteristic that Ruth Chris is high end

They still suck, and I also hate their name. Call it Ruth Chris for heavens sake!

That it took them a week. There is no steak dinner worth me going to a Ruth,s Chris ever again.

It took public shaming. No conscience in receiving the money.

Whats with the creepy stalker pic?

They never should have applied for it to begin with. This is why DEMs insisted on a special oversight committee, which Trump promptly sabotaged by firing its chair and replacing him with a lackey.

What about Harvard and the other Ivy League Schools? Only reason they got unneeded big buck bailouts is cronies in corrupt Congress. PayItBack.

Wait, that’s actually the name of a chain? Ruth’s Chris Steak House? I don’t know how to process this information, other than knowing that I hate it

Can they also return what has to be the stupidest name in steak houses?

bannerite Good.

bannerite 'small' business. Right 🙄

Good, but what I'm really pissed about is the name. What is Chris? Is Chris an adjective? What's a Chris Steakhouse, and why in the hell are they all Ruth's?

Dudes realized nobody’s coming and eating shitty steak from them if they don’t put a wrap on it.

Potbelly will you be following the example set by RuthsChris and returning your Ill gotten gains plundered from the pockets of struggling small business owners?

shaunking

shaunking

And out of business soon let’s hope

shaunking F*ck them and all the others regardless. They took the money when they knew they shouldn't, and giving it back does NOT release it for those of us who don't have millions in the banks, stocks to sell, and huge lines of credit. The money waits in limbo where it helps NO ONE.

must be owned by a republican senator

Good on you RC

I love all the comments about how they shouldn’t have taken the money. How many of these posers have sent their stimulus checks back?

bpopken For a place that charges $11 for asparagus, I'm surprised.

Good!

How the fuck did they qualify in the first place!!

‘bout time.

Apparently the SBA is running 4 weeks behind in processing the EIDL emergency grants that Congress mandated for funding within 72 hours and they are running almost 6 weeks behind in funding actual SBA direct loans.

Current pic of Ruth’s Chris CEO

'Furlough' my ass hole. I worked for RC and was 'let go' so I could claim unemployment (which has not come through) when instead they have the capabilities to continue paying their employees though 'sick leave' but chose not to. And theres no guarantee we'll all get our jobs back

as they should, we should be asking who else took that money

Keep reporting which companies took money spent for small businesses. Publish a list on twitter every day. The good citizens of America will do the rest.

this is why we need transparency... we need to find these assholes who are taking advantage of the system... depleting the money that is mean for small business... they only did it because they got caught and got under fire

Return good, free from prosecution NO!!!!!!!

Republicans: 'This money is for 'small businesses *wink, wink*'

Now it's known why SBA funds depleted so quick and a lot of small/medium businesses owner were not able to even apply for it. It's a disgrace for those big corporations and companies that kept the funds while we know which have social conscience and own initiative to returned it.

Still never going to eat there, someone authorized you all to apply. Only hanged your mind because of bad publicity! So I’ll go to a local amazing steakhouse

Good for them! Finally, someone doing something right for a change. Wonder what the govt. will do with that returned $$? Will it be redistributed, or will they just ‘keep’ it for something else? Where’s the oversight?!

If you can boil an egg, you can cook a steak. Can do it on the stove with the oven. Do not need to fuss over a grill. Ruth's Chris and Potbelly, how many others, got their $$$$ through JP Morgan Chase. There are more.

Sable47552204 Good. Shame where shame is due can have results.

STabbytosavit They got busted double dipping by applying as 2 different corporate subsidiaries. Cap was $10mil they got 20mil. Only 20 of 83 nonfranchised locations would’ve seen the money. The 63 Independent ones would’ve seen nothing. Simply put, they got caught being the scum of the earth.

Should have never even applied for it

It's a shame it took shame to do the right thing. 🤦🤨

So who is allowing these big chains to get the $? If it was a bank don’t let that bank do more loans. Start taking a look at who got what by whom. Big corporations always have their hands out and this adm happily fills them. Monitor the $. COVIDreliefIRS

You forgot to add ‘begrudgingly’ to the new title. 😏

Will never frequent the restaurant again

Thank you

What the heck counts as a “small business”?

Shameful they had to be shamed into returning the $$$.

These companies have no shame

About time.

Good. Who’s next?

how many others are there...,.wheres the transparency

Just think what Trump Hotels, Golf Courses and Baseball Caps Inc. are getting 🤑

🙄shouldn’ta took it in the first place

How are these big restaurant chains getting loans and small businesses don’t? I don’t understand the economics of this Or anything about how this happens

The rich get richer by finding loopholes. DonTheCon found many loopholes to avoid paying taxes, he actually profits from tax payers.

Shame it took outage to do this and not conscience!

Only because of bad publicity. Same reason as Shake Shack. Screw them both.

Just being cynical - can we have proof And what did they get instead?

That takes a lot of meatballs!

Will that money go to small (I mean SMALL businesses) businesses? Like local bodega on corner? Diner down the road? The small factory making bed frames? I don't want to see companies with 500 or employees getting all the funds.

What I don't understand is why these companies including Mr Vegas fawned over by Lawrence didn't know ahead of time these loans were not intended for them and they'd be taking money out of hands of the needy.

The issue is that they have resources available to them that mom and pop chains don't

Good

Hand deliver that stimulus check back to Mitch ,i'm sure he will distribute that 'WISELY'

Why not shame Ivy League schools?

all these public companies should be prosecuted for defrauding the govt.

Been there once over priced, I prefer Texas Roadhouse myself. Reasonably priced much better atmosphere, and the steaks are delicious. Plus they make their own sauce which is also delicious.

Absolutely right. There is nothing “small business” about this chain. The banks need to honor the intent of the stimulus package and lend to small businesses, not conglomerates

Amen

Good! 'Cause I was ready to boicot them, didn't matter how good those steaks are. No siree.

What other public companies took money?

So many people I know say they will never eat there again

Good idea

They don’t fuckin need it

The question is: where was the oversight committee? They got caught. The only reason they are giving it back.

These loans should go to the mom and pop businesses, not high end luxury restaurants. I'm worried for my favorite Pho shop down the street, not about where I can't afford to eat at. $200 for a steak dinner? Blow me.

Took them long enough.

Watch Ruth’s Chris apply for a $40 million loan under the new bailout

I mean I would not have a problem with it so long is it's going out to employees who are laid off.

a $100 steak and baked potato. they have ridiculously priced wine too.

The right thing to do! I will continue to support RuthsChris

A bigger problem is they were approved in the first place. How much more of this going on?

I always preferred Mortons anyway.

Would have kept it huh? Damn public wants answers, data, and facts...

Did they figure out that nobody would ever go there again?

Never gone... never will.

when there is Free money' the greedy rich are always first in line with their hands out

Awe man, they're gonna have to sell like 7 steaks to make that up.

Well done!
