AMPANG: The Pasar Taman Tasek Tambahan here has been closed for disinfection after one trader’s employee tested positive for Covid-19.

The market was shut on Saturday and will only reopen on Tuesday as it undergoes sanitising and cleaning procedures following a directive from the Hulu Langat District Health Office.

Ampang Jaya Municipal Council president Datuk Abdul Hamid Hussain said a trader’s employee tested positive for following voluntary testing a few days ago.“MPAJ is carrying out cleaning works at the market while the health office will be conducting screening tests for all the traders and staff, ” he said when contacted.

He added that sanitising works would also be carried out at other council-operated markets as a precautionary measure.
