Twitter is testing a feature that will let you control who can reply to your tweets and keep 'reply guys' at bay

Twitter announced Wednesday it's testing a new feature that would let you stipulate exactly who can reply to a tweet. In a blog announcing the test, Twitter's director of product management implied the feature could be used to curb the behavior of "reply guys."The social network announced on Wednesday it was rolling out a test version of a feature which allows users to select who exactly is allowed to reply to a tweet.

Here's how it works: you write your tweet and tag the people you want to be able to reply. Then you tap the "permissions settings" in the bottom left corner. You will then have three options for who can reply, "everyone," only people you follow, or only people you mention.Twitter is only testing the feature out on a small number of its users, and it may never be rolled out wholesale.

So is that what MKBHD has had for 2 weeks? Cause it seems like some of his tweets are restricted lmao

I got that feature. Still need to find out in what case I will use it.

Wondering why mute, block, is not sufficient. Wondering too why limiting replies to followers only isn't sufficient. Would think it an administrative nightmare for accounts with millions of followers.

Sounds like Twitter just want to become a advertizing billboard and a propaganda tool.

Isn't this censorship? It can't be a coincidence that a pro-CCP ex-Google person joined their management and this kind of feature happened?

Twitter is trying to help certain set of people like Trump, Johnson, Bolsonaro, Putin, Macron, Orbán, Jinping with its feature.

So more censoring from Twitter ... Got it.

Which means we can not tell someone liar if they published FakeNews

How will trump supporters find out they are saying stupid things?

Retweet

Wow 🤩 that’s really stupid and just feeds into the live in your own bubble and no need to debate. Terrible idea.

ClwtrBkAtty The best feature ever. Thanks TwitterComms

Well, actually.

twitter don’t do that, we must be able to reply to our stupid politics when they are lying and trying to manipulate weak people

As a tweep said, 'We cannot enjoy true freedom of speech until the people we disagree with are silenced.' I guess this is the notion Twitter is following.

And this isn’t funny a’ll 😩 Like this tweet, I I’ll follow you. Do well to follow back.

trump must be whining about that too, lol

Many people died because the ventilators were blowing too hard. Plus, getting off the vent isn’t so simple. Going on a vent is a VERY serious thing. Very few come alive after being with ventilators. Could it be that in ICUs the very sick of Covid19 are given the wrong treatment?
