Sinead O'Connor worried about future of music industry as 'nobody is buying records'

Sinead O’Connor admits she is worried about the future of the music industry as she plans a career in palliative care.

The singer has signed up to study healthcare at the Bray Institute of Further Education in September to help those who are dying without any loved ones to visit them. But the singer also revealed she’s worried about the effects the coronavirus pandemic will have on the music industry. Sinead told The Late Late Show on RTE: “I have been accepted to do the course in Bray Institute of Further Education in September.“The area that I want to work in, in particular, is hospice palliative care… companioning people, who for one reason or another, don’t have family around, or are on their own.“If I get my diploma I would be able to work on the frontline myself, which I would like to do.

“Definitely, lately, I’ve been very worried about where music is going in terms of being something we can make a living out of, because nobody is buying records.”
