Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin opens the door to another round of stimulus checks for Americans

Democrats support additional stimulus checks for Americans, but Republicans are cool to the idea so far.Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin opened the door for another round of stimulus checks during a congressional hearing on Wednesday. "I think we're going to seriously look at whether we want to do more direct money to stimulate the economy," Mnuchin said while testifying before the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He didn't offer specifics on possible cash amounts.

"I definitely think we are going to need another bipartisan legislation to put more money into the economy," Mnuchin said. "Whatever we do going forward needs to be much more targeted to the industries and small businesses that are having the most difficulty reopening as a result of Covid-19."
