Google pledges to introduce 'racial consciousness' training for employees and boost diversity among its leadership ranks

Google also said it would do more "to address representation challenges and focus on hiring, retentions, and promotion at all levels" of the company.

Google is promising to boost representation of under-represented groups in its leadership ranks by 30%. In 2019, just 2.6% of its leadership was Black. Even if Google fulfills this promise, its leadership will *still* only be 3.4% Black — by 2025. That's not terribly ambitious.
