Charges are expected to be laid against Dreamworld's parent company over the 2016 tragedy which claimed four lives in Queensland.

Cindy Low, Kate Goodchild, her brother Luke Dorsett and his partner Roozi Araghi died in October 2016 when a water pump on the Thunder River Rapids malfunctioned at the theme park. 9News understands the charges against Ardent Leisure will be laid later today following an assessment by an independent prosecutor from Workplace Health and Safety."The independent Work Health and Safety Prosecutor can confirm he has concluded his assessment of the Dreamworld matter," a statement provided to 9News read.

Further information will be released today once all families had been notified of the decision, it read., which referred Ardent Leisure to the Office of Industrial Relations for possible prosecution after delivering a scathing assessment of the park over the deaths.
