A wet market in an area in Pasig City, where some of the streets were recently placed under localized lockdown, will be temporarily closed on Wednesday .Mayor Vico Sotto announced Tuesday that the wet market in Napico, Barangay Manggahan, will be closed for a day to clear the way for the targeted coronavirus testing of residents.

Sotto said 800 residents in the area will be subjected to swab testing at Napico Multi-purpose Hall on Wednesday. He said walk-ins will not be accepted for the testing. “Naka high alert ang peace and order officers natin para bantayan ang mga dadaanan ng mga ite-test ,” the mayor said. On July 19, the Pasig City government indefinitely placed four streets in Barangay Manggahan under localized enhanced community quarantine .The local government said residents are only allowed to leave their house for work or emergency reasons.

Food packs were recently distributed to the affected residents of the streets under lockdown, namely Pipino, Labanos, Okra, and Ubas Streets.
