HONG KONG - Investment news site Motley Fool will shutter its Hong Kong operations due to the uncertain political outlook in the Asian financial hub, according to a post on the company's website earlier this week.
The post, by Hayes Chan, Motley Fool's Hong Kong lead analyst cited last year's protests, the introduction of a National Security law and the United States and China's economic decoupling as reasons for the uncertainty. Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam has said journalists can report freely if they do not violate the security law.

Brilliant! Under the dictatorship of the CCP , HK is no longer an international financial hub but just a policestate without freedom. Move all your investment out now before the CCPChina swallows them all.

At the beginning, the CCP told Hong Kong people that the situation in Hong Kong would become more and more stable after the implementation of the National Security Law. Now more and more companies plan to withdraw from Hong Kong, and many Hong Kong people plan to move overseas.
This is one of the news page I've read everyday lately. How unfortunate. Thanks to our government fighting for a disaster of our city. FightForFreedom
'International financial centre' without any freedom is not a international financial centre No wonder they will close Hong Kong business

Thanks XiJinping for turning Hong Kong into another city of China
This is the wise decision. No freedom, unfair legal system, police violence, corruption everywhere. So, the firms and enterprises should not invest HK. HK
smart decision; it is simply unwise to invest in a policestate
Foreign people no more safety in Hong Kong. CCP can arbitrary arrest anyone by using illegal national security law.
Time to realize that nothing could protect you anymore

Hong Kong is not safe to do business anymore under the draconian national security law. It’s recommended to leave HK soon before it’s too late.
Sad but wise decisions, who will take their company at risk. National security law in HongKong is an universal law, it can arrest ppl who r not in HK, even not a chinese n put it to jail, like USA citizens samuelmchu, like the man burned Chinese flag in England. Quite pathetic.
Who would choose to stay in HKpolicestate?
Great to see that. HongKong is totally down. No more academicfreedom in HK now. HongKongers, even non-HongKonger are not safe in HongKong under the NationalSecurityLaw Welcome to a HKPoliceState and NewWestBerlin. FreedomOfSpeech freedomOfExpression save12hkyouths

Understandable given CCP's hostility towards journalism.
I could see CCP has the strongest determination to laam chau 攬炒
Sounds like the HongKong gov. fails to balance economy and 'national security '
More will quit from HongKong, it’s reasonable that we can’t guaranteed their safety and stability. Chinazi CCP_is_terrorist
Hong Kong has now become a China-manipulated financial hub under the NationalSecurityLaw. CCP is spreading its threat and control to the businesses in HK. It makes sense that Motley Fool and other corporations will leave HK in the future. StandWithHongKong FreeHK
Retreat investment is the only way out from CCP's fake opening 1.3 billions market but eating you out by kidnapping 1.3 billions as well as foreign company by 'CCP value rules'
HK is no longer an international financial hub as the NSL erodes rule of law, the cornerstone of HK's success.
More would follow Motley Fool’s decision as Hong Kong is no better than China now
Motley Fool isn't the only one who has such decision. When rule of law & free flow of information are no longer secured in Hong Kong, there isn't much advantage to do business in HK...
