AirAsia Food offers a 10% commission model to merchants—much lower than Grab and Foodpanda's 30% service fee.

Airasia Food’s flat-rates are equivalent to a 10% commission rate—much lower than Grab and Foodpanda’s. Fernandez said that this will enable merchants to “earn more while having full control of their menu, pricing and also easy access to data by being able to communicate directly to customers”.

“Our flat-rates are by far the cheapest in the food delivery industry, and we hope that this would be some sort of a ‘Merdeka’ for all the restaurants out there,” continues Fernandez. Besides the lower commission fees, users are able to earn and pay with their BIG Points. Merchants are also able to immediately sign up online with no contracts or forms required, and reach more customers with a delivery coverage up to 60km.

Malaysians can already use the delivery feature, and Airasia Food plans to expand to Singapore by the end of January 2021. They will be expanding to other Asean cities next year. If you’re a merchant interested in adding Airasia Food to your delivery options, you can email them
