Chhatra Shankar was a familiar face on television screens in his home country of Nepal, presenting news for a major broadcaster.Some people with journalistic experience have managed to break into the industry by working on the podcast

Shankar eventually found work on a Nepalese-Australian news website and on the Speak My Language podcast project.Shankar says Speak My Language is helping create a sense of belonging in the Nepalese community. "Because when they tell their own stories — in their own language — that Nepalese community understands easily, [it improves] their sense of belonging," he said.Speak My Language will record hundreds of personal stories around the country in up to 25 different languages.The podcast will also feature interviews with community groups and businesses about accessible activities and places.

What does it matter about his race. I know plenty of people who want to get a job in journalism but can't. How would a caucasian journo go getting a job on a Nepalese TV station ?
