Kennedy was chosen as the Irish representative at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens.

Brian Kennedy is an Irish singer-songwriter and author from Belfast who landed atop hit singles and album charts in the UK and Ireland during the 1990s and 2000s.

During this time, Brian also maintained his own line of chart-making albums, including A Better Man and Now That I Know What I Want - which both went platinum at No.1 and earned him numerous awards including Irish Best Male Artist and Irish Best Male Album. Kennedy was then chosen as the Irish representative at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, where he sang his own song "Every Song Is a Cry for Love".

The series was aired on RTÉ during the early months of 2012 and Kennedy mentored the eventual runner-up that year, Richie Hayes.
