The multi-million-dollar partnership with the Victorian government will provide relief to small and medium size businesses over the next two weeks.
It is the best unemployment rate seen in Australia since December 2008 and takes into account the second and third weeks of the Greater Sydney lockdown. The Treasurer said “significant economic support” had been provided in the form of the COVID disaster payments. An increase in the underemployment rate to 8.3 per cent was also observed during the past month as 230,000 people became employed but on zero hours.
According to this article from an actual reputable source - only 2200 extra people actually gained employment and the rate dropped because of so many people giving up looking for employment altogether. Lots of lying & fudging of the numbers going on.
