Two suspected armed robbers, Edehikenna Stanley and Segun Tope, have been arrested by the police for allegedly invading Crown Park Company located within

The two suspects were said to have stolen two heavy industrial batteries, while holding security guards hostage with a toy gun for hours on Saturday.

Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest on Sunday, saying the two were nabbed in the act, following a distress call received by the police in Onipanu division at about 3 am. Oyeyemi explained that the DPO of Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Ojo, after receiving the distress call, quickly mobilised his men and moved to the scene.

“On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums, who have stolen two heavy industrial batteries, took to flight, but they were hotly chased and two of them were apprehended,” he stated, adding that the batteries and the toy gun with which the suspects instilled fears in the security men, as well as two knives had been recovered.

The police image maker narrated that the duo of Stanley and Tope had been moved to the state CIID as ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole.
