Grammy award-winning artist DJ Black Coffee has thanked his friends, fans and all South Africans for their love and support.

After touching down at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Tuesday evening, the artist whose real name is Nathi Maphumulo had emotional words for young people: “Empower yourselves, that’s where it all starts. Once you start with an idea follow it through and never give up.’

He says hard work and determination will pay off: “You might not please everyone and some people may not like what you do but remember this is …. music is universal. Also encourage others to do their best.” Family and fans who gathered at the airport, were in high spirits, saying they are extremely proud at Black Coffee’s achievements: “We are very happy, we are very proud, he did the whole country proud. Its a major achievement for him and he will continue to shine ….”
