Will the latest interest rate hike cool off Canada's housing market? Experts aren't so sure | CBC NewsWhile Canada's housing market is already starting to cool in the short term as a result of the Bank of Canada raising its benchmark interest rate, some mortgage experts are questioning how much long-term impact the move will really have. This is happening everywhere not just in Canada so this is NOT a Liberal party problem as your headline makes it seem to be Odd. The lead in mentions ‘current Liberal government’ for an article that doesn’t reference a single level of Government. The BoC operates independent of the Government. Makes me a little cynical on the messaging from my beloved CBC. People are complaining about the fact that the interest rates are about 2% and inflation is about 6%. But I remember in the 80s & 90s we had double digit inflation and double digit interest rates and no one seem to complain much about it... they just accepted it.
