Conservative finance critic Ed Fast said Wednesday he believes Pierre Poilievre's pitch to fire the Bank of Canada governor over the country's inflation rate, which is the highest it's been in 30 years, hurts the party's credibility on economic issues.
"We lose some credibility when we do this … It is fair to ask questions, to demand solutions to the skyrocketing cost of living. But we also have to respect the institutions that have been granted independence to ensure that they function apart from political interference." "Central banks around the world have struggled with the same challenges that our central bank has struggled with," Fast said.Poilievre has dismissed previous criticism of his proposal to fire the bank governor as merely political elites attacking his message.
Too bad
Agreed

Conservatives don't have cred. They dont need it, either. Corporate Journalists will rehabilitate their image for free.

A very confused party whose policies are so outdated nobody really knows what they are.
No kidding
The Bank of Canada appears to have only 2 tools to address financial conditions in Canada. Quantitative Easing flooding the market with money they print causing major inflation and Interest Rate Adjustment to control the inflation they cause.
Can't the CPC_HQ tell from the writing on the wall that if PierrePoilievre wins the leadership race he will go rogue? If the party had any will to save themselves they will get rid of Poilievre long before 2025.
