A bizarre rumour to begin with Nikon TechNave

, the company announced that the original media article that started the rumour is purely speculation and there's no announcement regarding its SLR cameras. On top of that, Nikon also said that the company is still continuing the digital SLR production, sales and services.

But what started this rumour in the first place? Well, nothing. However, Nikon has discontinued the D3500 and D5600 DSLRs to focus on mid to high-end cameras and lenses. In addition, a smartphone camera is a more popular choice than SLR cameras and is responsible for the decline. Mirrorless cameras is also getting more popular over the years.
