Aston Martin has attracted new investment from Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, making it the second-largest shareholder in the British car maker.

The company has now announced plans for new “equity financing and strategic investment” from Saudi’s Public Investment Fund.

With additional funding from existing investors, including Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin is set to raise a total of £653m, leaving PIF as the second-largest shareholder with a 17% stake in the business. In making the announcement Aston Martin confirmed it has rejected an investment proposal from a consortium that included China’s Geely Group, which owns brands such as Volvo, Proton and Lotus in its portfolio.Stroll made it clear that the Saudi investment was a major coup for the company.

Great to see middle eastern company invest in F1. Hopefully Aston Martin will also have there own engines in 2026. They have already signed Aramco so engines are more than a possibility and they have already hinted that.

Ouch, Seb would need a new helmet for that.

Good 👍🏼

But the car still a shitbox

Why does F1 continue to do business with that sh1t hole

Amazes me honestly that Stroll can find investors despite their performance this season.

500 more million just to move down in standings to 11th place

All the Arab money, but still stay beautifully at the back of the grid💵💰💴

perhaps they can use the money to hire better drivers.

Car company that is massively struggling, an F1 team that’s designed 2 bad chassis in 1 year & can’t make Q2, think they’re a manufacturer team but have a driver that wouldn’t get a lmp2 drive but the media scrutinise mclaren & Danny Ric… savethebees lol

Vettel read it and retired instantly.

Not sure if that's the kind of people to associate with still far behind in women's rights and more 👊🏁

Amazing news Also love the crying in the comments

More blood money washing

More blood money coming in, nothing beats SA state oil Aramco, Seb the climate activist sponsored and paid by world biggest polluter and human rights violator SA state oil Aramco. When are you going to apologize to the Dutch fans now these 2 British girls are exposed?

are they trying to be like Newcastle or something?

🤮

More money without any knowledge and experience that can benefit the team. With tge budget cap in place, I thought they had enough already and spending them in a vain will not bring performance to the team

Yes

Yikes

Saudi's about to take Aston Martin off Lawrence Stroll hands

Sorry to see that.

Wonder what Vettel has to say about this...
