Questions over potential noise issues has pushed Scottsdale's decision on construction of a new restaurant until mid-September. phoenix

Scottsdale-based Riot Hospitality Group has proposed to tear down an office building in Old Town Scottsdale and build a three-story restaurant and bar in its place, but the owners of a hotel across the street have expressed concerns about potential noise issues.

“Riot Hospitality Group is deeply committed to Scottsdale and is looking forward to turning a blighted building that has sat vacant for 10 years into a high-end restaurant experience for our residents and visitors,” said Lissa Druss, a spokeswoman for RHG. “Let’s be honest … this is a bar,” Nau said. “The word ‘restaurant’ to me appears to be a red herring.”

“This will be a Latin, Peruvian, five-star restaurant. This is not a bar,” O’Brien said. “It has a bar in it, but the main portion of the outdoor patio is outdoor seating for dining.”
