Sustainable, smart farmers’ market initiative to be expanded in Pahang

KUANTAN: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) farmers’ market at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here has become the first location in the country to adopt a sustainable and smart concept.

State Local Government and Housing Committee chairman Datuk Abd Rahim Muda stages said the move will be extended to all farmers’ markets in Pahang.

He said, in addition to cash, the market also offers payment through the QR Code application and e-wallets, providing an exposure to digital businesses. I will hold a meeting with the local authorities next week and this proposal will be communicated to them; we expect that by next year, more farmers' markets and night markets will adopt this concept,” he said at a press conference after launching the Sustainable, Smart Farmers' Market here.
