A Southern California property management firm spent $135 million this week to purchase three older San Jose apartment complexes.

Dowd died in February, his attorney, Sarahann Shapiro of San Jose law firm Pahl & McCay, told the Business Journal. After his death, his heirs decided to sell the properties, she said. Located at 1265 N. Capitol Ave. and built in 1973, this two-story complex has 220 units, according to real estate database Reonomy. It was owned by Marcus & Millichap and the various individuals and trusts.Situated at 2050 McKee Rd. and constructed in 1972, this two-story, multi-building property has 149 units, according to Reonomy. It was owned by the Dowd trust.Located at 498 Boynton Rd.
