Fisher Industries was brought on as a general contractor and financier for the resort in early 2021 and took over ownership from Epic Resort Destinations in early 2022 after the project went in a different direction, Fisher said.

At full construction operations, Fisher said they will have more than 1,200 construction workers on-site and about 4,000 people off-site between fabrication and vendors. Fisher declined to say how the project is being financed.VAI features concert stage, party- island "It's such a unique opportunity to put Arizona on an international destination list, VAI is really going to change the narrative of what hospitality can be and I'm excited to do it in my hometown," Fisher said.

The water feature portion of the new resort is a six-acre lagoon that's six feet deep. This is smaller than the original 11-acre lagoon that was proposed for Crystal Lagoons. Overall, the VAI lagoon will contain about 36 acre-feet of water, or 12 million gallons, according to public records obtained by the Phoenix Business Journal.
