But spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin said normalcy had been restored in the area.Trouble started when some aggrieved traders protested extortion by members of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria , in the area.It took the intervention of the military and anti-riot policemen, who were drafted to the market to prevent bloodshed between the two groups.
Hundeyin, who confirmed the clash said the police and other security agencies restored normalcy at the market.
