Over 3,000 tradeswomen along with labour, government and industry leaders from across North America will be in Las Vegas, Nev. for the Tradeswomen Build Nations, the largest annual building trades conference in the world, hosted by NABTU .

The event will take place Oct. 29 and 30 at the Paris Hotel Convention Center.

The conference, which will bring together thousands of tradeswomen from the United States and Canada, has become an international movement cultivating mentorship, sisterhood and activism to address vital issues and increase tradeswomen retention in the unionized construction workforce, states a release.

The conference will include plenary sessions, breakout sessions and networking opportunities. It will focus on the once-in-a-generation workforce, diversity and policy investments for women and working families in the construction industry as well as the important research and programs that are improving recruitment, retention, education, training, safety, benefits and career opportunities for unionized tradeswomen, adds the release.

Industry leaders and government officials in attendance will include Sean McGarvey, president, NABTU; Liz Shuler, president, AFL-CIO; Sean Strickland, executive director, Canada’s Building Trades Unions; Gina Raimondo, secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce; Marty Walsh, secretary, U.S.
