The end of the show comes a little more than two years after CNBC launched the show with high hopes that a straight, down-the-middle news program would resonate with its audience.

Shepard Smith will exit CNBC later this year after the business-focused news network announced on Thursday that it will cancel his show as it undergoes a “strategic realignment” under new leadership. The end of “The News with Shepard Smith,” which will air its final episode later this month, comes a little more than two years after CNBC launched the show with high hopes that a straight, down-the-middle news program would resonate with its audience.

Sullivan indicated to employees that he wanted to invest more resources in financial news and said that Smith’s show will be replaced in early 2023 with a business-focused program. “After spending time with many of you and closely reviewing the various aspects of our business, I believe we must prioritize and focus on our core strengths of business news and personal finance,” Sullivan wrote in his memo.

Does anyone even watch CNBC?

CNBC is not known for news and I think that’s the problem.. I don’t think of CNBC when I want to watch the news.

Anybody who thinks Shepard Smith is a centrist is deluding themselves. He’s a far left liberal through and through!

That’s supposed to be a joke , right ? 😂😂

Bye

'DOWN THE MIDDLE '?!!!! CMON CNN, stop the lying already.

Dude just isn't likeable.

Bring back Chris Cuomo

I loved his program. Watched it every evening. Big loss for CNBC!

This dude is creepy as hell.

Shepard Smith had a CNBC show?

Is this a sign America is so divided you can't have centricity news channels?

Of course it failed. People don't want to leave their echo chambers and hear reality.

I’m really sorry about this.
