Global law firm Allen & Overy has recruited Herbert Smith Freehills lawyer Marnie Fels to lead its leveraged finance team, based in Sydney.

Other high-profile assignments included advising Brookfield on its acquisition of Asciano’s Patrick Terminals business and work for the likes of mid-market buyout groups Livingbridge, Odyssey Private Equity, Potentia Capital, The Growth Fund and The Riverside Company.Marnie Fels’ assignments at Herbert Smith Freehills included advising Bain Capital on its Virgin Australia acquisition in 2020.Fels started at HSF in Perth and moved to its banking and finance group in Sydney in 2002.
