SINGAPORE - To meet the spike in demand for taxis and private hire cars since the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions, the industry has been adjusting and steadily expanding, said Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Amy Khor.

Additionally, the number of daily trips has also increased by 32,000 on average. This is 6 per cent higher than in 2021.

Usually wen an economy sinks into recession there'll be an increase no. Of taxis, gig workers...as I asked them for the past few economy cycles before-'I was retrenched.' Won't be surprised the age group is getting younger over the years. That's the sign of the strong mandate👍

I don't count that as a good sign though.

I think its more of people being jobless. So they take these licenses lor.
