The Gupta family's mansion which was put on the market for R20 million at the beginning of the year has been sold:

belonging to the Gupta family since 2005 and later repossessed by the National Prosecuting Authority in 2021, was confirmed yesterday, 2 March 2023., Hardie Property’s agent Richard Huxham-Hardie confirmed the property was no longer on the market and that the sale had been confirmed.

The sole agent did not disclose how much the mansion was purchased for but Hardie said, “multiple offers on the property were received” in spite of its state of disrepair. It was confirmed that the manor with seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, two garages and a cottage was purchased at a cheaper price than the market value.“The structure is safe, it’s sound. So, I think someone can take the structure of it. Obviously, it needs a new roof, and everything inside needs to be stripped back but I believe the structure of the property is solid,” said Hardie.
