As college seniors approach graduation, a new survey finds that 97% are casting a wider net as they face a surprisingly uncertain job market

Nearly all—97%—of the 1,000 college seniors surveyed by recruiting-software firm iCIMS in March said they have considered alternative options in the uncertain job market, weighing graduate school, gig work or taking a job outside their major. A housing bubble popped around the time my class was getting their bachelor's degrees. That set my gen back a few years. At the prime of our careers, a pandemic wiped out a lot of that progress. Now inflation has killed the housing market just as we entered it. Another bubble.

Colleges and universities are getting a lot of bad press these days. Either they're making disturbing headlines or they're staying silent while the other places make those headlines. The presidents need to lead on this.

Great opportunity for these young people! Could college education rebound? Colleges need to find a way to reduce costs!
