Hvivo, an Irish-founded research organisation, reported record earnings before deductions of £9.1 million in 2022, up from £2.9 million the prior year, in what the company said was a “transformational” year.

The firm, which was co-founded by Cathal Friel and formerly known as Open Orphan, delivered seven challenge studies and inoculated 413 volunteers in 2022, a 32 per cent increase on the prior year.
