The “little detail” which forced the new Barbie movie to be banned in Vietnam was no mistake as the production company hopes for the movie to be broadcast in China, according to Sky News Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielson.

“The Chinese government deliberately limits access for American movies that are allowed to be broadcast in China,” she said.

“They allow a maximum of 34 each year that are only allowed to be distributed through two state-owned companies – Deadline reports only 15 American films were actually allowed last year. “So when movie producers let details like that slip in, remember this: Those are wins for the Chinese government. “Hollywood production companies will do anything to get into the market that boasted $US4 billion in ticket sales last year.”
